Gratitude is something that many people overlook, but it really has great power. Countless studies show that being grateful each day can actually increase your happiness levels and decrease the risk of depression. When you adopt a gratitude attitude, your life will be completely transformed as you will start to see the world in a different light as well as see the beauty in not only yourself but others.

Choosing to live a life of gratitude, is one of the best decisions you can make in your life as it can increase your happiness by 25%. When you focus on the good things in your life, you will always feel like you have enough, and you will be fulfilled, but what most people do these days is focused on all the things that they don’t have, and it puts them in a downward spiral. Be grateful that you are actually living, that you live in a safe country, that you have limbs and/or that you have friends and family because lots of people don’t.
We go about our lives being depressed that we don’t have the latest iPhone or that we have hand-me-down clothes, but the truth is, there are people out there dying because of hunger. It is time for us to be thankful for what we have and not take our lives for granted, we are so lucky, yet we don’t even know it. Instead of using your money to buy a new iPhone, you could give it to those who have nothing.
We need to learn to be more grateful for the things we have as we are so fortunate. Don’t overlook gratitude, every day take a minute to write down 3 things you are grateful for and tell us in the comments your top 5 things you’re grateful for.
