A college professor started his class by taking out a hundred dollar note and asked his students how many of them wanted it, all the students hands went up. Then, he folded it in half twice and asked, how many of you still want this, and again, all hands were raised. Then he scrunched it up, asked the class again and they all still wanted it. Finally, he threw the note on the ground and stepped on it, then he asked, how many of you want this now? All the hands where raised.
No matter how many times it was stepped on or scrunched up, they still wanted it. Why? Because it was still worth $100. This story shows that in the same way the $100 held its value even when it was folded, crumpled and stepped on, so do you. It doesn’t matter how many times life pushes you down or crumples you up because you are still so valuable.
If you were offered 1 million dollars in return for your eyesight, would you take it? Of course not. Or if you were offered 10 million dollars but you wouldn’t have use of your limbs again. Most of us would turn these offers down straight away because we know that our bodies are worth more than 1 or even 10 million dollars. Now I want you to think about your body as a company, your heart wouldn’t earn an employee of the month or year, it would get employee of life. Throughout your entire life, your heart never stops. It never has a break, every second, minute, hour and day it keeps on beating.
Don’t ever think that you are not valuable because the examples above prove that you are, and you know it. Our society makes us think that we are not good enough and that our looks, social media and/or what we have, define our value. The talents you have inside of you that may or may not be known are worth more than you know. Keep being awesome. You are valuable.
